Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Birmingham, Alabama.

- Hourly Pay: $38.30 per hour
- Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF
- Hours: Second Shift Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, Friday 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification, Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
- Basic tools, required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
- Routine preventative maintenance, such as oil changes, brake and tire work
- Diagnostics and repairs, including AC, electrical systems
- Major engine repairs, diesel after treatment, or automotive fuel injection repairs, required
- Four (4) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
- Must be able to read codes and instructions on the computer
- Computer experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, internet, and related systems
- Minimum tool requirement
- Experience with computerized maintenance programs for reporting and communication
Additional Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License and ability to meet Ryder's driving qualifications
- Minimum Tech II to Tech IV qualifications plus 6 months supervisory or training experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations
- Proficiency in SMO, SBT, payroll system, warranty recovery, and employee handbook
- Understanding of Unit utilization procedures
- Driving Requirements:
- Must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
- Pass Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, road test, background check, and motor vehicle check

Internal Candidates:
Minimum 6 months in current position with good performance, attendance, safety, and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Assist and train Technicians, provide customer service, and give feedback on employee performance
- Oversee parts, inventory, reporting, warranty, unit tracking, payroll, and other duties as assigned
