Local Diesel Shop is seeking a Diesel Technician to diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair various systems to ensure safety and performance on the road.
The role requires 2–3 years of experience in semi-tractor maintenance, a valid California driver’s license, and the ability to operate diagnostic software and a range of shop tools. Candidates should be able to document repairs and work with a team.
Under the direct supervision of the Shop Owner the Diesel Technician will work on getting our customers back on the road quickly and safely. Technicians will be performing diagnostic trouble shooting and repairs including but not limited to cooling system, electronics, air systems, engine, transmission, clutch, steering, brake and wheel, hydraulic systems, seals, differentials, etc. Must have some knowledge of heavy-duty diesel mechanics and diagnostics. Must document all time, materials, and work performed on repair orders. Must be able to make repair recommendations, take direction when needed, and have a positive work behavior.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Skill/Ability: Attention to detail and willingness to work, perform a variety of mechanical repairs or preventive maintenance on diesel trucks and equipment using a variety of power and hand tools; establish and maintain effective working relationship[s with co-workers and suppliers; and maintain California driver’s license applicable to job responsibilities and good driving record.
High school graduation, or its equivalent, or sufficient education to read and write, plus experience in mechanical repair work, preferably at least 2-3 years of experience working with or for a mechanic; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
A Valid Class C California Driver’s License is required.
