Job summary

Plug Power Inc. is seeking a Mechanic I to fabricate, assemble, debug, test and troubleshoot mechanical components for Diesel systems.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, teamwork, and clear communication with manufacturing teams to resolve issues quickly. The position expects a high school diploma with 2-5 years of similar experience, knowledge of data collection and statistics, and experience with commercial trailers and pony motors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, plus 2-5 years of experience in similar role.
• Working knowledge of data collection and statistics.
• 2-5 years’ experience with commercial trailers with pony motors.

Responsibilities

• Install mechanical parts and sheet metal assemblies using basic machine shop tools.
• Weld aluminum, carbon and stainless steel using MIG & TIG processes.
• Assemble and troubleshoot 12-volt electro-mechanical systems.
• Debug and troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic mechanical systems.
• Read mechanical part drawings (a plus).
