About the Job

Supervises and provides direct leadership for technicians. Manages work flow and assigns tasks.

This position will oversee the maintenance shop at our location located in Hyattsville MD. We are looking for both a 1st Shift and 2nd Shift Diesel Shop Supervisor to join our Team.

The first shift position would be a Monday - Friday wiht a start time of 6:00am. The 2nd Shift position would be Monday - Friday with a start time of 2:00pm. Candidate must be open and willing to work weekends if necessary.


What You'll be Doing
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of employees in the maintenance shop.
  • Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs, and monitors progress and quality.
  • Reviews driver repairs and other maintenance requests, and prepares work order documents.
  • Performs mechanical duties as needed.
  • Monitors inventory of replacement parts and restocks as needed.
  • Oversees personnel including coaching, training, evaluating employee performance, and conducting disciplinary action as needed. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
  • Interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies and safety regulations.
  • Creates and submits reports as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of non-supervisory employees. This includes:

  • Direct/Indirect supervision of full-time employees including: mechanics, technicians, clerks.

A. Education and Experience

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
  • Experience: Four (4) years of relevant work experience.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

  • None required.

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Maintenance and repairs skills, and supervisory experience may be required.

The expected base pay range for this office/on-site position is $70,000 - $82,170 This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location
