Job summary

Swift Transportation is seeking a Service Manager for its Butler, MO location. This role manages maintenance operations Monday–Friday, 6:00 am–5:00 pm, with a pay range of $70,000 to $80,000 depending on experience. Requires strong leadership in heavy-duty maintenance and vendor negotiation.

Qualifications

• Four years heavy duty vehicle experience and one year maintenance supervision or a minimum of 2 years as foreman.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the efficiency of the maintenance workforce and ensure cost-effective utilization of the maintenance facility.
• Oversee assigned maintenance shops ensuring appropriate staffing, budget adherence and safety compliance.
• Ensure shop and yard are equipped with tools and safety equipment.
• Ensure training and certifications for safety programs where necessary.
• Ensure shop meets government regulations (EPA, OSHA).
• Lead maintenance shop supervision and daily oversight of staff.
• Monitor purchases and ensure compliance with KNX policies.
• Determine best repair decisions for equipment in assigned shops.
• Lead accident estimates and bids for outsourced equipment.
• Negotiate with local vendors for uniforms, disposal, and supplies.
• Ensure tire inflation and safety checks at customer locations follow schedules.
• Lead customer site trailer maintenance and provide feedback on programs.
