Job summary

Salem Leasing is seeking a Service Manager to lead shop operations, service and maintain customer equipment, and guide shop personnel. The role emphasizes supervisory responsibilities, scheduling, vendor relations, and adherence to DOT/OSHA guidelines.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a diesel mechanic with supervisory experience, CDL preferred, and ability to work extended hours. On-site role with competitive pay and benefits. On-call service awareness is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on medium and heavy duty diesel truck mechanic and supervisory experience.
• CDL license preferred.
• Brake and DOT Certification.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and supervise activities of all assigned personnel.
• Provide appropriate supervision to employees and ensure duties are performed timely.
• Hire, train and evaluate personnel.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with vendors.
• Follow up on additional work needed on units leaving the shop for outside repairs.
• Comply with Company, DOT and OSHA guidelines.
• Plan and prepare work schedules and assign associates to duties.
• Provide training to new and existing employees on policies and safety.
• Perform duties of each position if necessary and assist with on-call service calls.
