Job summary

Job Site Repair in Mahtomedi, MN is seeking a hands-on lead technician to guide daily workflow on the shop floor for diesel and gas trucks and fleet vehicles. You’ll assign work, troubleshoot complex drivability and electrical issues, and ensure safety and organization.

This role emphasizes mentorship, clear customer communication, and parts coordination while maintaining a Monday–Friday evening shift, 5:00 PM–2:00 AM, with no weekends.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on automotive and/or diesel repair experience.
• Background with medium-duty trucks, gas and diesel platforms, and fleet vehicles.
• Prior lead tech, foreman, or supervisory exposure preferred.
• Expert mechanical and electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Ability to prioritize work and keep jobs moving.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop workflow: prioritize tickets and assign jobs.
• Perform automotive and diesel repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using scan tools and software.
• Support techs with troubleshooting and complex repairs.
• Inspect vehicles, verify repairs with road tests, and recommend future work.
• Source, order, and coordinate parts; manage inventory considerations.
• Communicate timelines and findings to customers and ownership.
• Train, coach, and motivate mechanics to elevate quality and efficiency.
