Job summary

The Larson Group Peterbilt seeks an experienced Diesel Service Technician to join our team as a Journeyman. This role performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair mechanic under minimal supervision, with emphasis on diagnostics, repairs, and safety.

Qualified candidates will have a Class A CDL, strong inspection and repair skills, and the ability to document work meticulously. We offer paid time off, holidays, healthcare, a 401K plan, and opportunities for career

Qualifications

• Must possess or obtain a Class A CDL.
• Safety-sensitive position, adherence to rules.
• High school diploma required.
• Trade school degree or certification preferred.
• MVR must comply with guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic/mechanical repairs on heavy‑duty truck equipment; test to ensure quality.
• Follow safety rules and company policies at all times.
• Communicate with Service Foreman about unavailable parts.
• Download/save engine files and diagnostics to Paccar Solutions/Decisiv.
• Record detailed troubleshooting steps and repair results.
• Save and label warrantable parts; box and label correctly.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area; return tools after use.
• Inform next shift of any special instructions or concerns.
• Maintain efficiency and productivity as directed by Service Manager.
• Maintain Peterbilt online training at 95% completion.
• Obtain and retain Class A CDL during employment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Larson Group Peterbilt is looking for an experienced Diesel Service Technician to join our dynamic team. This position performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair mechanic under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Performs diagnostic/mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components. Testing when completed to ensure repairs are completed properly.
• Follow safety rules and company policies always.
• Communicate to Service Foreman regarding parts that are not available for repairs.
• Download and save to Paccar Solutions/Decisiv: all pictures, engine files (before and after repair), and diagnostic test used to perform repair.
• Record in detail, the description of all trouble shooting steps and results of repairs made and any other information about the repair.
• Save all warrantable parts. Tag, wash, box and turn in to correct location. Labels the box with repair order number, S/N, customer name and date.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area. Clean and return tools used.
• Advise the following shift's technicians with any special instructions or concerns you found when repairing truck.
• Maintain efficiency and productivity goals set forth by Service Manager.
• Maintain Peterbilt online training percentage of 95%.
• Obtain class A or B CDL and retain during employment.
• Perform other duties and repairs as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Should possess a High School diploma.
• A college degree or a certificate or degree from a trade school is preferred, but not required.
• Experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
• Must Possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
• Motor Vehicle Record adheres to TLG MVR Guidelines.
