Job summary

Moon Valley Nurseries is seeking a Diesel Service Mechanic to service company equipment and vehicles at designated MVN stores and farms. You will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and electrical systems across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include ordering parts, maintaining a safe work area, and ensuring DOT vehicle maintenance compliance.

Qualifications

• Three+ years experience in vehicle, construction equipment, mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and electrical diagnostics and repairs.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and farm implements as needed.
• Experience with acetylene and electric arc welding is highly desired.
• Manufacturer trainings / certifications (Bobcat, Case, Kubota, Deere, ASE) are a plus.
• Experience in nursery, agriculture or related environment is a plus.
• Must read and write English and be able to pass safety training within 10 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of company vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and service on diesel and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose issues using manuals and work orders; maintain service logs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety rules and DOT standards.
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating service with store and farm locations.
• Provide guidance as a lead in supervisor's absence.
• Prepare and maintain service records and reports.
