Job summary

North Central International is seeking a Service Technician in Albert Lea to perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards. The role requires reading repair orders, preparing work areas, and documenting all work while ensuring safe, full-functioning vehicles.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of related experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a vocational or technical program in automotive or diesel technology preferred.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Experience with medium- or heavy-duty trucks, commercial vehicles, or dealership service operations is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain one is preferred.
• ASE certification(s) preferred.
• OEM or dealer-specific certifications (e.g., International) are a plus.
• Basic understanding of vehicle systems including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and diagnostic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret repair orders, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and electronic service systems.

Responsibilities

• Collect and review repair orders to understand tasks and documentation.
• Clock on and off repair orders to track time and work performed.
• Gather and verify information needed to diagnose or complete repairs.
• Identify and secure proper tools and equipment for the job; maintain them.
• Request parts to be delivered to the bay or retrieve parts when delivery is unavailable.
• Prepare the vehicle for service with safety and cleanliness in mind.
• Conduct visual inspections and identify additional service needs.
• Use internal systems to locate service procedures, bulletins, or additional repair information.
• Identify and secure additional parts required during repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs to manufacturer and company standards.
• Document findings, diagnostics, and repairs on the repair order.
• Notify personnel of additional faults or service recommendations.
