Job summary

The Larson Group Peterbilt is seeking an experienced Service Foreman to supervise service technicians, assist with customer complaints, and help write repair orders and estimates. The role requires a CDL and related field experience, with a path toward advancement within a safety‑conscious shop environment.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, time management, safety compliance, and liaison duties between customers and technicians, with emphasis on efficient, quality repairs and turnover.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma.
• Trade school certificate/degree preferred but not required.
• Must possess or obtain CDL; experience in related field required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise service technicians on a daily basis and assign work accordingly.
• Manage technicians’ time on jobs to maintain efficiency and productivity goals set by Service Manager.
• Maintain shop policy to keep below 2% of revenue.
• Review work in progress and follow up for timely completion; maintain closure rate under 15 days with max 5-day lag.
• Inspect and road test vehicles to ensure proper completion of work.
• Ensure safety rules and TLG policies are followed at all times.
• Resolve customer complaints and keep Service Manager informed of issues.
• Maintain clean shop and ensure tools and equipment are in proper operating condition.
• Assist Service Writer in opening/closing Repair Orders and estimating costs.
• Act as liaison between customers and technicians.
• Pre-plan parts requirements to ensure availability when needed.
• Coordinate with Service Manager and sales staff to prepare trucks for customers.

The Larson Group Peterbilt is looking for an experienced Service Foreman to join our dynamic team. Exercise direct supervision of mechanical personnel. Assist them when necessary in diagnosis of customer complaints and recommending needed repairs. Assist in greeting customers, writing repair orders, and estimating repair costs.

Responsibilities:

• Daily supervision of service technicians. Assigning work accordingly.
• Managing tech's time on jobs. Ensuring techs maintain desired efficiency and productivity goals set by the Service Manager.
• Maintain shop policy to keep below 2% of revenue.
• Check and review work in progress and follow-up for completion as scheduled. Maintaining closure rate of under 15 days and max 5-day lag.
• Inspect and, if necessary, road test vehicles to ensure work has been completed properly.
• Ensure all safety rules and all TLG policies are followed at all times.
• Resolve customer complaints, keep Service Manager informed of all customer complaints and technician problems.
• Assist in maintaining a clean shop and making sure that special tools and shop equipment are in proper operating condition and being used correctly.
• Assists Service Writer in opening and completing Repair Orders and estimates.
• Act as liaison between customer and technicians.
• Review repair orders to ensure all technicians have entered detail description of repair and T/S steps. All pictures and down loads are saved and attached to Paccar Solutions / Decisiv. Warranty parts have been properly tagged and saved.
• Pre-plan parts requirements for each job ensure parts are available when needed.
• Work with Service Manager and New and Used Truck Salespersons to ensure all sold trucks are prepared properly for the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Should possess a High School diploma.
• A certificate or degree from a trade school is preferred, but not required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a CDL. Experience in a related field is required.
