Job summary

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Diesel School Bus Mechanic in Iowa City, IA. Monday–Friday 1st shift, 9am–5:30pm, pay $28–$36 per hour. Responsibilities include servicing gasoline and diesel school buses, diagnosing defects, and performing preventive maintenance.

Requirements include 2+ years in bus/medium truck maintenance, own tools, and strong communication skills. CDL B with air brake endorsement and A/C certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in bus or medium truck maintenance.
• CDL B with air brake endorsement preferred; A/C certification.
• Own set of tools and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with customers.

Responsibilities

• Servicing of gasoline and diesel powered buses from basic maintenance and minor repairs to full vehicle service.
• Diagnose mechanical defects and carries out a preventive maintenance program.
• Major and minor overhaul of engines and transmissions.
