Job summary

Miller Transportation Group is seeking a Diesel Mechanic Technician for the Miller Truck Leasing division in Florence, NJ. Join a longstanding family-owned company with a large regional presence and a strong commitment to employee development.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults, ThermoKing refrigeration systems, and brake/steering/suspension work. Monday–Friday 12:00 PM–8:30 PM with competitive hourly pay starting at $38/hour and up to $43+ for experienced

Qualifications

Prior experience as a fleet, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanic.
Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel tractors (Class 1-7).
A valid CDL or ability to obtain one with trainer assistance.
Hand tools required.
Experience working on refrigeration units (ThermoKing) is desired.

Responsibilities

Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles.
Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes using company-provided OEM software, following warranty procedures.
Diagnose and repair ThermoKing refrigeration units.
Repair/replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments.
Replace clutches and transmissions.
