Job summary

Miller Transportation Group in Florence, NJ is seeking a Diesel Mechanic Technician to service Class 1–8 trucks within Miller Truck Leasing. Join a family-owned, growth-oriented company with deep roots in New Jersey and an extensive network of maintenance shops.

The role focuses on preventative maintenance, diagnosing engine fault codes, ThermoKing refrigeration units, brake/steering work, and clutch/transmission replacement.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a fleet/diesel/heavy equipment mechanic.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing Class 1-7 diesel tractors.
• A valid CDL or ability to acquire one with trainer support.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and reconditioning on Class 1–8 vehicles.
• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes using OEM software.
• Diagnose and repair ThermoKing refrigeration units.
• Repair/replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments.
• Replace clutches and transmissions.

Miller Transportation Group is immediately hiring aDiesel Mechanic Technician for ourMiller Truck Leasingdivision in Florence, NJ. With over 100 years of experience and upwards of 8,000 trucks on the road, Miller currently operates over 40 Diesel Maintenance shops throughout KY, MD, PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA, and NH. You Will:

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles
• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures
• Diagnose and repair ThermoKing refrigeration units
• Repair / Replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments
• Replace clutches & transmissions

You Have:

• Prior experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic
• Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors
• A valid CDL, or the ability to acquire a CDL with the assistance of our trainer
• Hand tools
• Experience working on Refrigeration Units (ThermoKing primarily) is desired
• Ability to work:
  • Monday - Friday from 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM
• Competitive compensation:
  • $38 - $43+ Per Hour
  • Higher compensation possible for very experienced Reefer Technician
