Kenan Advantage Group, Inc. in Calera, AL seeks a Diesel Mechanic Technician Apprentice II-III to perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on Class 5-8 commercial vehicles. You will complete inspections, repair brakes, suspensions and electrical systems while maintaining DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of diesel, fleet, truck, trailer, or heavy equipment preventive maintenance experience.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must pass background check, MVR review, drug screen and physical exam.
• Ability to obtain required industry certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Class 5-8 commercial vehicles and tank trailers.
• Diagnose and repair brake, suspension, electrical, and air systems.
• Complete truck and trailer inspections.
• Perform wheel-end, tire, and preventive maintenance services.
• Troubleshoot starting, charging, fuel, and HVAC systems.
• Maintain DOT compliance standards and inspection requirements.
• Complete repair orders and maintenance documentation accurately.
• Work safely in a team-oriented shop environment.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventative maintenance on Class 5-8 commercial vehicles and tank trailers
• Diagnose and repair brake, suspension, electrical, and air systems
• Complete truck and trailer inspections
• Perform wheel-end, tire, and preventive maintenance services

Apprentice Shift: Monday to Friday 7am-5pm

Tech 2-3 Shift: Monday to Friday 2pm to midnight

Requirements

• 1-5 years of diesel, fleet, truck, trailer, or heavy equipment preventive maintenance
• and repair of Class 5 - 8 commercial vehicles and tank trailer inspection
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
• Valid Driver's License
• Must successfully pass a background check, MVR review, drug screen, and physical examination as a condition of employment due to the safety-sensitive nature of the position.
• Ability to obtain required industry certifications
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
