Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and reefers with minimal supervision. You will ensure compliance with state and federal trucking regulations and maintain accurate Work Orders for repairs and parts used daily.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of medium-heavy vehicle repair experience including PMs, tires & wheels, air & air disc brakes, diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and A/C refrigeration.

Responsibilities

• Complete and perform preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units).
• Identify root causes of basic failures and perform repairs as required.
• Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to roadworthiness.
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other key parts and replace as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, and use of tools and equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
