Position: Diesel Mechanic Technician A (2nd shift)

Pay Range

This range is provided by Performance Foodservice. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range: $29.00/hr - $29.00/hr

Position Details

• Pay: Up to $29.36 per hour to start, with shift differential for overnight hours
• Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday, 3:30pm-11:30pm

Position Purpose

We prioritize safety! The Diesel Technician - Class A ensures safety by repairing, maintaining, and overhauling our fleet diesel equipment, ensuring safe operation and compliance standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and related equipment
• Perform overhauls, rebuilds, preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs
• Inspect critical systems and ensure equipment is roadworthy
• Document work orders accurately using our online system
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication
• Train and guide fellow mechanics
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. 5-7 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and overhauls. At least 2 years in refrigeration and/or engine/transmission rebuilds.
