Job Description

Position Details:

  • $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Sunday - Thursday, 5:00pm - 2:00am

Position Purpose:

We prioritize safety! The Diesel Technician - Class A ensures safety by repairing, maintaining, and overhauling fleet diesel equipment, ensuring operational safety and compliance standards are met.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Diagnoses and repairs medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, convertor dollies, and maintenance vehicles with minimal supervision
  • Performs overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions
  • Conducts preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and inspections of fleet diesel equipment
  • Inspects brake systems, steering, wheel bearings, and other parts for proper operation, replacing parts as needed
  • Ensures equipment has required licensing and registration for roadworthiness
  • Documents work orders and maintenance activities in the online system
  • Installs, replaces, and repairs onboard computers
  • Performs routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication using appropriate tools
  • Provides guidance and training to other mechanics
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
5-7 years of proven experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including preventive maintenance, tire & wheel, air & disc brakes, diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and electronic component repair

Preferred Qualifications

Associates or 2-year technical degree
7-10 years of relevant experience in vehicle repair, including overhauls and rebuilds of diesel engines and transmissions
Certifications in tire & wheel, brakes, AC, EPA, engine rebuild, DOT inspections, transmissions, engines, ASE Heavy Duty preferred
