Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance: oil and filter changes, greasing, fluid checks, belts, hoses, and service intervals
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines
  • Troubleshoot and service aftertreatment systems: DPF cleaning and regeneration, DEF systems, EGR, and related fault codes
  • Repair and adjust air brake systems, including chambers, slack adjusters, valves, and lines
  • Service suspensions, steering, driveline, differentials, clutches, and transmissions
  • Diagnose electrical and wiring issues, including lighting, sensors, starting and charging systems, and ECM-related faults
  • Service HVAC systems
  • Perform tire work: mounting, dismounting, repairs, and rotations
  • Complete DOT annual inspections and document defects and repairs accurately
  • Maintain and repair trailers - livestock trailers, hopper bottoms, and flatbeds
  • Complete work orders, parts usage, and repair records completely and legibly
  • Keep the shop, tools, and work area clean, organized, and safe

Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Truck Technician
Location: Saint Paul, NE
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications
What You'll Be Doing

What You Need
Required

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs; occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance
  • Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work under and on top of equipment for extended periods
  • Work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, grease, and seasonal temperature swings
