Job summary

WM (Waste Management) is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for our Monroe, LA hauling site. This role features a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional Saturdays and a focus on safe, high-quality maintenance of a growing fleet.

You’ll work on electrical, hydraulic, suspension and brake systems, using modern tools to service trucks that support millions of customers nationwide. CDL is preferred and eligibility to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant mechanical experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and parts.
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Safety checks and maintain a clean, safe work area per OSHA standards.
• Document parts usage and repair times; complete required paperwork.
• Assist senior Mechanics in project work completion.
• Review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and assign repairs.
• Maintain a safe shop environment and follow safety procedures.
