Job summary

CNC Oilfield Services in Frierson, LA is hiring skilled mechanics to diagnose and repair diesel-powered vehicles. You will perform diagnostics, replace major components, inspect systems, and conduct test drives to ensure functionality.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Entry-level to experienced technicians are welcome, with pay starting at $22 per hour and up to $35 per hour based on experience, certifications, and skills.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or related field.
• ASE Diesel Certification advantageous.
• Valid Chauffeur's License, CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run diagnostic tests on vehicles and analyze results.
• Replace engines, steering, transmissions, and braking systems as needed.
• Inspect lighting systems and perform safety checks.
• Test drive vehicles and perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain parts inventory and service records.

Pay Range

• Entry-Level Mechanics: Starting at $22.00 per hour
• Experienced Diesel Mechanics: Up to $35.00 per hour, based on experience, certifications, and skills

Mechanic Duties & Responsibilities

• Running diagnostic tests on vehicles
• Analyzing diagnostic test results
• Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems
• Inspecting vehicle lighting systems
• Test driving vehicles to gauge performance
• Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns
• Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles
• Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
• Maintaining a parts inventory
• Prepares and maintains accurate records of services and repairs
• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows safety regulations
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop, work area and equipment
• Must be willing to work a callout schedule

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
• ASE Diesel Certification advantageous
• Valid Chauffeur's License, CDL preferred
• Air Brakes Certification
• Air Conditioning Certification

Required Skills & Abilities

• Must have reliable transportation
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components
• Knowledge of electrical systems
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 150 pounds
• Must be able to stand for significant lengths of time in an industrial environment with exposure to all weather conditions
• Must have own tools
• Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools

• Good interpersonal skills
• Effectively communicates with co-workers in a positive manner
