Job Description

This individual will be responsible for the effective repair of equipment and components at high levels of quality. Their work must be completed in a safe, professional, and timely manner. Based on their level of expertise, the Service Technician may work under direct supervision. This individual must be able to perform quality work efficiently and profitably, and may be required to work overtime and weekends occasionally.

Specific Duties Include:
  1. Diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, assemble, and service equipment as assigned by the supervisor.
  2. Document machine information and repairs completed on work orders, including parts and fluids used.
  3. Maintain a clean work area and care for all shop tools, machines, and equipment.
  4. Identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities within the dealership's area of responsibility.
  5. Maintain technical and product knowledge of all equipment sold within the dealership's area of responsibility.
  6. Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  7. Present a professional image of RDO Truck Centers when in the presence of customers and the community.
  8. Participate in available company-sponsored training to develop and enhance knowledge and skills.
  9. Engage in all company and location communication efforts, including meetings and huddles.
  10. Maintain positive and professional relationships with peers, management, and support resources, demonstrating teamwork and excellent customer service.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
Job Requirements:
  • Excellent mechanical skills
  • Trade-specific tooling, including hand and pneumatic tools
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to assemble and perform maintenance on equipment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Graduation from a related diesel technology program is preferred
  • Valid work authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
