Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. seeks a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment in a safe, professional manner. You will contribute to customer service excellence and may advance within the Service Department.

Responsibilities include hands-on mechanical work, servicing engines, and supporting junior technicians. The role may involve travel to job sites and on-site deployments with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and tools knowledge.
• Strong understanding of engines.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

• Safely maintain and repair complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems.
• Assist in training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork and work orders daily.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance as required; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with equipment and parts pick-up/delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.
