Job summary

United Rentals, the world''s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) to perform maintenance and repair on complex rental equipment, involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. You will travel to customer sites as needed, train junior technicians, and maintain accurate work orders.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Strong mechanical background knowledge of engines.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work orders daily.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
