Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Tigard, OR.

Benefits and Compensation:
  • Hourly Pay: $39.00 per hour
  • Sign-on Bonus: $2,000 (paid $1,000 at 30 days and $1,000 at 90 days)
  • Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification, up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500, four times per year
  • Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday off
  • Hours: Second shift, 12:30 pm – 11:00 pm, 4-10's

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas/diesel engines, including preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and major repairs
  • Four or more years of relevant experience preferred
  • Valid CDL Class A preferred
  • Other certifications as required by location
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to perform all T3 tasks
  • Advanced mechanical repair skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Availability for shift work, weekends, and on-call duties
  • Prefer ASE certifications in various specialties
  • Proficiency with shop computers and diagnostic tools
  • Minimum tool requirements
  • Ability to road test vehicles
  • Ability to coach and mentor others
Driving Requirement:
  • Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background checks

Responsibilities:
  • Complete OEM diagnostic courses within specified timelines
  • Perform vehicle maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics
  • Use maintenance documentation and diagnostic tools
  • Assist roadside breakdowns and perform facility maintenance
  • Interact with customers and advise on repairs
  • Mentor and coach other technicians
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines
  • Support shop operations as needed
