Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Tigard, OR.

Benefits and Schedule

• Hourly Pay: $39.00 per hour
• Sign-on Bonus: $2,000 (paid as $1,000 at 30 days and $1,000 at 90 days)
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500, four times per year
• Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday off
• Hours: Second shift, 12:30 pm – 11:00 pm, 4-10 hour days

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or technical certifications preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience in automotive gas or diesel engine repair, including preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and major repairs
• Four or more years of relevant work experience preferred
• Valid CDL Class A preferred
• Other certifications as required by location

Additional Requirements

• Ability to perform all T3 tasks
• Advanced mechanical repair skills
• Good interpersonal and computer skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Availability for shift work, weekends, and on-call duties
• Prefer ASE certifications in various specialties or Master Mechanic
• Proficiency with shop computers and diagnostic equipment
• Minimum tool requirements
• Ability to road test vehicles
• Ability to coach and mentor others

Driving Requirements

• Must obtain CDL within 6 months
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background, and motor vehicle checks

Responsibilities

• Complete OEM diagnostic courses and OEM training as required
• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including complex repairs
• Utilize diagnostic tools and documents
• Assist roadside breakdowns remotely
• Maintain shop and facility standards
• Interact with customers and drivers
• Mentor other technicians
• Adhere to safety and compliance guidelines
