Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is seeking a 2nd shift Mechanic at Kee Container in Detroit, MI to maintain and repair trucks and heavy machinery. You will diagnose engines, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems, perform scheduled service, and drive vehicles for tests.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and experience as a diesel mechanic; CDL preferred. We offer competitive pay, health and retirement benefits, education assistance and PTO.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 18+ years old.
• Diesel mechanic experience preferred with hydraulic systems.
• Welding and torching experience preferred.
• Mechanic license or equivalent experience required.
• Good communication and ability to keep records.
• Willingness to work independently and on rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain trucks and yard machinery per schedules.
• Diagnose engines, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Perform air and electrical diagnostics and repairs.
• Drive trucks and trailers to test performance.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping on site.
• Order parts and respond to down trucks as needed.
