Shop Foreman - Diesel Mechanic Heavy Equipment

JR RAMON is a full-service demolition company operating throughout Central and South Texas since 1945. We are seeking a qualified and motivated Shop Foreman to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong work ethic, ambition, initiative, and possesses leadership and management skills to advance within the company.

Job Duties:

1. Order and maintain inventory of parts.
2. Maintain fluid and constant communication with the asset manager to ensure objectives are met.
3. Determine equipment condition through inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn or damaged parts.
4. Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance, installing upgrades, controlling corrosion, and winterizing.
5. Perform repairs, diagnostics, and inspections routinely.
6. Ensure shop equipment operates properly by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, and calling for repairs.
7. Control costs by utilizing warranties and evaluating service and parts options.
8. Manage supplies by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
9. Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
10. Enhance the maintenance department's reputation by owning tasks and exploring opportunities to add value.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years experience as a diesel mechanic working with heavy equipment (e.g., excavators).
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and re-gen systems.
• Good problem-solving skills; resourceful.
• Experience with tractor trailers.
• Ability to pass a drug test.

Job Details:
