Swift Transportation is seeking immediate hire for Diesel Mechanics in New Jersey. The role includes performing preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers, with a shift from 7:30am to 4:00pm and a pay rate of $22.00–$35.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of vehicle systems and basic maintenance preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required; training/experience acceptable.
• Driver's license required.
• Demonstrated superior customer service skills.
• Ability to read and understand repair manuals and fill repair orders.
• Ability to use diagnostic software on tractors/trailers; must possess computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on company equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support gear.
• Perform preventative maintenance per OEM/DOT/Swift specifications.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment as needed.
• Disassemble and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance and related tasks.
