Job summary

Sugar Creek Transportation is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to diagnose and repair semi-tractors, perform preventive maintenance, and keep our Detroit engine fleet safe and on the road. You will use computer diagnostic equipment, work with a team, and bring your own tools to the shop in Bloomington, CA.

This full-time role rewards dependability, strong problem-solving, and clear communication in a fast-paced service department.

Qualifications

• Must have own tools
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines
• Good problem-solving and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues on semi-tractors
• Use computer diagnostic equipment to identify fault codes and problems
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on Detroit engine fleet
• Repair or replace worn parts including brakes, engines, transmissions, and cooling-system components
• Troubleshoot air-conditioning and vehicle electrical systems
• Inspect and test-drive vehicles to determine needed repairs
• Maintain records of repairs and service history
• Follow safety procedures and keep work area clean and organized
• Stay current with new diesel-repair practices
