Job summary

Ecology Auto Parts Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Bloomington, CA to diagnose and perform preventive maintenance on heavy‑duty diesel vehicles and equipment. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair systems, report to the shop manager, and support maintenance across fleets and facilities.

The role requires 3 years of relevant experience, a valid driver's license, and a high school diploma. Competitive hourly pay with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and PTO is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; certification preferred.
• Certification or diploma in automotive technology or related field preferred.
• Proven diesel mechanic experience.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals and schematics.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools.
• Strong safety awareness and compliance.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
• Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Works under limited supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company / OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisitions new parts.
• Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conducts annual safety checks on vehicles.
• Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Assist other mechanics in the completion of project work.
• Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
