Job summary

Harmon Scrap Metal seeks a Diesel Mechanic to perform routine and preventative maintenance on semi-trucks. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered vehicles, manage tools and parts, and document all work in CMMS.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in a similar role, a valid CDL or ability to obtain, and strong welding, electrical, and hydraulics skills. The role supports a growth‑oriented, safety‑driven shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Commercial driver's license preferred; CDL required/ability to obtain.
• Vocational/technical diesel repair training required.
• Certified to conduct annual inspections and brake adjustments or willing to become certified.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered semi-trucks.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel vehicles and machines.
• Maintain inventory of parts and tools; document work orders.
• Mentor and assist other technicians; follow safety procedures.
• Prepare maintenance reports and records in CMMS.
• Operate company vehicle as needed and adhere to company policies.
