Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II) to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and minor repairs on rental equipment in a safe, professional manner. You will support customers, document work orders, and potentially advance to higher-level Tech roles within the Service Department.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service and teamwork. A high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and ownership of appropriate tools are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 1–2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment, or trade school graduate.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of rental equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
• Demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
