Job summary

United Rentals in South Salt Lake, UT is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment safely and professionally, with opportunities to advance into higher Service Technician and leadership roles.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, 3–5 years of repair experience, advanced mechanical aptitude, own tools, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of repair/maintenance experience on equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of engines and related systems.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel).
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic work orders accurately and timely.
• Travel to customer sites for repairs when required; keep service vehicle clean.
• Assist with pick-up/delivery of equipment & parts; perform other duties as assigned.
