Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment in a safe, professional manner. You’ll work with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems while delivering excellent customer service.

The role offers opportunities for advancement in the service department, training of junior techs, and potential travel to customer sites as needed. A High School diploma and valid license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools are required.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• 3-5 years experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders).
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as assigned.
