Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is hiring a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II) to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and minor repairs on rental equipment in a safe, professional manner. You will support customers and may advance toward higher level Tech roles in the Service Department.

The role emphasizes maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems with a strong focus on service quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 1–2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of rental equipment.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work orders daily.
• Demonstrate a wide array of equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
