Job summary

Reyes Fleet Management, one of the largest privately held fleets in the U.S., is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician B to repair and maintain the tractor and trailer equipment at our Reyes Beverage Group shop in Chesapeake, VA. This full-time role runs 9:30 AM–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with pay of $25.00–$29.00 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance, documenting work in AssetWorks, and adhering to DOT/OSHA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of related experience.
• Must possess own tools.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR in compliance with DOT regulations to operate company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and complete routine preventative maintenance of fleet equipment.
• Document repairs and maintenance in AssetWorks system with parts used and work completed.
• Learn and assist diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools.
• Adhere to DOT, OSHA, Reyes policies and safety practices; maintain safety gear and procedures.
• Drive Reyes family vehicles as required and maintain DOT qualification file.
• Other projects or duties as assigned.

Shift: Full-Time l 9:30AM - 6:00PM Monday-Friday
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00/hr, depending upon experience/qualifications

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for accurately inspecting, repairing and completing routine preventative maintenance of Fleet Equipment, including standard component inspections and repairs.
• Complete necessary documentation for repairs and maintenance while maintaining accurate records of work performed, parts used, and repairs/inspections completed through the online AssetWorks system.
• Vehicles and Fleet Equipment.
• Learn and assist diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal polices and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices.
• This position requires driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The Driver Qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMSCA Clearinghouse review.

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) with 2 plus years of related experience
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess own tools.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles
• Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds
