Job summary

Reyes Fleet Management in Manteca is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician A to maintain our fleet of tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units. You will diagnose, repair, and document work orders, using our Enterprise Asset Management system and adhering to DOT/OSHA safety standards.

Qualified candidates own their tools, hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable MVR, and may have a CDL. The shift is Monday–Friday, 1:00pm–9:30pm, with pay up to $43 per hour and comprehensive

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record per DOT regulations.
• CDL (License A) is highly desired; mandatory in some locations.
• Must possess own tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units).
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic software/tools.
• Adhere to DOT, OSHA and Reyes Fleet Management safety standards.
• May involve driving Reyes family of businesses vehicles; DOT Drug Screening applies.

Shift: Monday - Friday 1:00pm - 9:30pm
Pay: up to $43.00/hr, depending upon experience

Position Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts)
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal polices and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
• This position may require driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The Driver Qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMSCA Clearinghouse review
• Some travel may be required
• Other projects or duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED with 3 plus years of related experience
• Must possess own tools
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles
• Valid CDL (License A) is highly desired; mandatory in some locations
• Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds
