Job summary

Meridian Waste in Sanford, NC is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to repair and maintain waste collection trucks and related equipment. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and work closely with the team to meet service goals.

The role requires 2+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience, the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and strong reading/writing skills. ASE certification is an asset. This is a full-time position with on-site work and safety emphasis.

• 2+ years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Excellent reading and writing skills.
• ASE Diesel Certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on waste pick‑up trucks and support equipment.
• Run diagnostics on trucks and coordinate with team to meet goals.
• Maintain vehicle records and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Follow safety policies and ensure compliance with regulations.
