Job summary

Tyson Foods in Cullman, AL is hiring a 1st shift Diesel Mechanic to maintain tractors, trailers, and live production equipment. You will diagnose issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure compliance with DOT rules while keeping a safe work environment.

This role requires six months of diesel mechanic experience or a diesel mechanic training program, basic tools, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. You must be willing to work weekends/holidays and lift up to 100 pounds.

Qualifications

• Six months of diesel mechanic experience or completion of a diesel mechanic training program.
• Ability to meet DOT and Tyson Fleet Safety Driver Qualifications.
• Must have basic tools and be able to work with supervision.
• Must be able to read shop manuals and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose and repair equipment to ensure continuous operations.
• Change trailer and tractor tires and install parts with supervision.
• Assemble or reassemble complex equipment requiring maintenance knowledge.
• Keep a clean work area and wear proper PPE.
• Follow safety practices; stand, walk, lift up to 100 pounds.
• Work weekends and holidays if necessary.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
