Solid Waste Services of West Virginia, Inc. invites applications for a Diesel Mechanic at our Proctor, WV division. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks and construction equipment in line with manufacturer specs and safety standards.

Qualifications include a diesel Engine Tech degree or equivalent experience, ability to read manuals, basic computer skills, a valid license, and a strong work ethic. We offer competitive pay and a supportive, family-oriented workplace.

Qualifications

• Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or training or transferable experience.
• Knowledge in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts and jacking equipment
• Ability to Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs
• Ability to read, understand and interpret technical data via instruction manuals
• Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and software
• A valid driver’s license
• Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Must be organized and motivated to succeed with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic, repair and maintenance on trucks, construction equipment, including auxiliary components in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications
• Knowledgeable in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists and jacking equipment
• Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs
• Adhere to manufacturer’s warranty policies and procedures
• Capability to independently analyze and safely resolve problems
• Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
• Special projects and other job duties as assigned
