Job summary

RydeTrans is looking for a diesel mechanic to keep our paratransit fleet safe and road-ready. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gasoline engines on buses, vans, and shuttles, and perform electrical diagnostics using scan tools.

Accurately document work and support both solo and team efforts from our Berkeley shop with occasional road calls to Hayward. The role requires ASE certification or 8+ years of relevant experience, strong diagnostic skills, and solid computer literacy in

Qualifications

ASE Certification or 8+ years of diesel/automotive repair experience.
Strong electrical diagnostic skills and familiarity with scan tools.
Proficient with Word and Outlook for records and communication.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gasoline engines on buses, vans, and shuttles.
Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting using scan tools.
Complete preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
Respond to road calls in the Hayward area as needed.
Keep accurate repair and inspection records in maintenance systems.
Work both independently and as part of the team.
