Job summary

Southern Freight Lines is seeking a full-time Mechanic/Technician Apprentice in the United States to be trained and mentored in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining all equipment used in freight handling. You will join an apprentice program designed to grow skills on a wide range of tractors, forklifts, and trailers.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license; background and drug checks will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED; valid driver's license.
• Background check and drug test pass required.
• Preferred but not required: Diesel/ASE certifications and related training.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain equipment used in freight transportation and handling.
• Track completed and pending work to meet service schedules and commitments.
• Troubleshoot and analyze failures in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems.
• Perform routine maintenance: lubrication, cooling, brakes, tires; repair as needed.
