Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and reefer units under minimal supervision. You will ensure compliance with state and federal trucking regulations and maintain accurate work order documentation.

Responsibilities include road call service as needed, inspection of braking and steering systems, and routine mechanical tasks using hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 2+ years experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including PMs and diagnostics.
• Experience in A/C refrigeration and electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units) and identify root causes of basic failures.
• Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration before roadworthy determination.
• Document repairs and PMs in the Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
• Inspect brakes, steering, bearings, and other critical systems for proper operation and replace parts as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, and use of hand and power tools.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
