Patriot Disposal in Manassas, VA is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team on the 2nd shift. The role focuses on diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance to keep waste collection vehicles and heavy equipment operating safely and efficiently.
We offer competitive pay up to $42/hour, potential sign-on bonus up to $5,000, and benefits. The ideal candidate has diesel experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and reliability.
Qualifications
- Experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with waste management or truck fleets.
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and air brake systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- High school diploma and/or diesel mechanics training.
- CDL is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered trucks and heavy equipment.
- Maintain records of maintenance, parts used, hours worked, and services performed.
- Ensure safety standards and environmental regulations are followed.
- Coordinate with team to prioritize repairs and keep fleet availability high.
- Assist in inspections and parts ordering as needed.
