Job summary

Patriot Disposal is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for the 2nd shift in Manassas, VA. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on diesel engines and heavy equipment to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

You will work on rear-load, front-load, and roll-off trucks, using diagnostic tools and hand tools. CDL is a plus; HS diploma required. Competitive pay, bonuses, and career growth opportunities are offered by a family-first company.

Qualifications

• Experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with waste management, heavy equipment, or truck fleets.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems.
• Experience using diagnostic tools, mechanical hand tools, and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle maintenance: diagnose, service, and repair diesel-powered trucks and heavy equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance: engine checks, fluid changes, brake adjustments, tire replacements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and replace worn parts (brakes, engines, hydraulics, transmissions).
• Ensure safety standards and environmental regulations are followed in all repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, parts used, hours worked, and services performed.
• Collaborate with other mechanics and supervisors to prioritize repairs and fleet schedules.
