Job summary

Waste Management in Lewisville, TX is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join a safety‑minded team. The role offers a 2nd shift from 1:00pm to 11:30pm, Monday–Friday with every other Saturday, and a starting pay of $28.54 per hour plus $3 shift differential.

You’ll repair heavy trucks and equipment with a focus on electrical, hydraulic and suspension systems. This position includes a $7,500 sign‑on bonus, tool and boot allowances, comprehensive healthcare from day one, and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant work experience in diesel mechanic roles.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements with/without accommodations.
• Pre-employment drug screen and physical clearance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for repairs and parts.
• Work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Safety checks and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Document parts usage and repair times.
• Assist senior Mechanics on project work.
• Review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and address issues.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA standards.
