Base pay range

$25.00/hr - $33.27/hr

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus.

Position Summary

Under supervision from a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, a Mechanic performs repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis components, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brake systems, engine work, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems. Basic tire work may also be performed. This is a second shift position (3:00 - 11:30 PM).

Essential Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain chassis components, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, air and hydraulic brakes, engines, suspension, drivetrain, steering, and HVAC systems.
• Perform road service to ensure equipment is operational.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Complete company training programs.
• Maintain a clean and professional work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Experience or knowledge of maintenance on light/medium and heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• Valid Driver’s License; CDL preferred.
• Diesel Technical Training preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Efficient and productive work approach.
