Silvi Materials is hiring a Diesel Mechanic for our South Plainfield, NJ operations. You will service a fleet of mixers, heavy equipment, and class-A trailers, performing preventive maintenance and repairs to diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.

The role offers 2nd or 3rd shifts with shift differential, competitive hourly pay, generous benefits, and a clear path to contribute to a growing, multi-location team across the Northeast.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fleet/transportation maintenance experience preferred for medium to large operations.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL A preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and professional working environment.
• Diagnose and perform preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Repair or replace diesel engines, transmissions, axles and related subsystems.
• Perform electrical work including wiring systems and starter rebuilding.
• Repair engine management, ignition and sensor systems; adjust brakes and tires as needed.
• Weld, fabricate or repair parts as required.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and organize work area.
• Prepare time, materials, parts usage reports.
• Learn to use diagnostic equipment and respond to road service calls.
