Job summary

R+L Carriers, a family-owned transportation company based in the Richmond, VA area, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to maintain Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment. This full-time role requires preventive maintenance, major repairs, experience with Cummins and Detroit engines, AC and electrical work, and having your own tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Ability to handle major repairs.
• Experience with AC and Electrical systems.
• Must have own tools.
• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Experience with Cummins engines.
• Experience with Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day equipment maintenance on fleet.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Address welding needs as required by location.
• Ensure workmanship meets safety and quality standards.

Diesel Mechanic - $22.35 - $37.60 / hr. Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 2 nd + 3 rd shifts

Job Description

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet equipment consisting of preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs to Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. This can include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, welding depending on location.

Requirements

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
• Must be able to handle major repairs
• Experience with AC and Electrical
• Have the ability to lift 50lbs
• Must have own tools
• 2+ Years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred
• Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines
• Experience using Cetaris used for work orders
• Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs
